With the new UIM World F1 season just weeks away, the driver line-up has changed a little since last year. We are still waiting for news of the Torrente-Al Hameli partnership which has been kept under qraps until contracts are signed. However we can confirm that Team Sweden has a new driver ERik Stark who race last term in Emirate Racing colours. He joins team owner and fellow Swede Jonas Andersson and both are former F2 world champions. This duo could be dark horses for world championship honours and Jonas certainly found his best form in the latter part of 2016. Young Swede Jesper Foors has made way for Stark.

Another young pilot has moved aside to makw way for a newcomer to F1. China’s only F1 pilot Xiong Ziwei has been replaced by France’s Peter Morin who will partner fellow Frenchman and three time world champion Philippe Chiappe. Although the team is CTIC China, the only person representing that country is Team Manager Eric Chan.

The other change in driver line-up is Australian Grant Trask joining Duarte Benavente’s Team Atlantic. We had reported Grant was joining Scott Gillman’s Emirate Racing but I’m afraid to say we jumped the gun, so now Team Atlantic will benefit from the ‘Monster Homes’ pilot undoubted skills (Monster Homes is the company owned by Grant’s father and former F1 driver Bob Trask)
