Hong Kong is not renown for powerboat racing but in a unique one off international championship raced in the waters of Hong Kong city, Drew Langdon, a native of Devon, UK, drove to victory.
All the boats raced in this one off event were 15 foot single seater monohulls powered by a 50hp Tohatsu.
Britain’s Drew Langdon has excelled in 2018 after collecting maximum points in two totally different factions of powerboat racing. His first victory was in August when he won the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race. The marathon had been considerably shortened due to horrendous sea conditions, but Drew and driver/navigator did not let the rough water affect them and their Outerlimits marathon boat ‘Silverline’ clinched maximum points as it arrived back in Cowes.
