With three drivers, all within striking distance of the 2018 UIM World F1 title, it would be very difficult to predict which one is the most likely to secure gold. However, what is a foregone conclusion, and what makes this year’s Sharjah finale so fascinating, is that the Gold, Silver and Bronze will all go to Team Abu Dhabi.
At one stage of the season it looked like America’s Shaun Torrente was going to be the runaway champion, but technical issues this last weekend in Abu Dhabi have diminished his advantage. Sweden’s Erik Stark is a multi-F2 world champion and he has also been in the top three in the F1 points table for most of the season. No 3 driver in the Abu Dhabi team is veteran Arab pilot Thani Al Qemzi who is enjoying his best season for several years and is now lying in third place in the points table.
None of the trio have won this prestigious title in previous years, and tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, we will know which of them has been crowned 2018 world champion, although with Stark on Pole Position, he will now start the last race of the season as favourite to win. The race starts at 7am Eastern time on Saturday… You can watch it live on the website which is www.f1h2o.com
