Matt Palfreyman will be flying the Union Jack flag in the UAE this December aboard a Dragon F1 outfit when he joins Jon Jones’ Welsh Dragon team for the final two UIM World F1 grand prix events in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Matt is no stranger to F1H2o, promoters of the World F1 Series, as he competed for two seasons in the F4S championship, which is the support championship to F1 launched five years ago, and this year he has been racing in the 2017 World F2 series. The opportunity to compete in the UIM World F1 Series was too good an opportunity to decline, and he has been testing the Dragon boat in UK waters before it will be shipped out to the UAE.
The Dragon boat will be fitted with a Mercury prepared by ace tuner Alex Hedin, and Dave Burgess will be looking after the catamaran’s welfare which has undergone many modifications over the last year. The last Brit to take part in the World F1 Series was Malcolm Goodman five years ago.
